New Delhi, April 2, 2008: FOX Channels (India) Private Limited (FOX India) today announced the entry of FOX Channels into India. FOX India has applied for licenses for a number of new channels, with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. |
The FOX platform already has a plethora of niche channels such as FOX Life, FX, FOX Crime, Cult, Speed and Voyage. FOX India will be launching FOX Crime, Nat Geo Music, Nat Geo Adventure, Nat Geo Wild, FX, Nat Geo HD and Baby TV in India. |
Commenting on the entry of FOX Channels into India, Mr Nikhil Mirchandani, Managing Director, NGC Network (India) Private Limited said, "The near future would see the entertainment industry getting a plethora of niche channels from the FOX stable. The FOX Channels are known for their strong, highly recognizable entertainment brands and worldwide presence. The to-be launched FOX Channels will cater to all demographics and interest areas of Indian audiences from investigation to entertainment and wildlife to children's television." |
Mr Nikhil Mirchandani further elaborated that, "There is a large untapped audience in India for specialised content. It is expected that these channels will offer viewers innovative and unique programming and will most definitely be well received. They will also strengthen relationships with advertising partners, who will have yet another platform to reach out to niche audiences with a global outlook." |
More details on the channels will be shared when they are launched, post receipt of requisite regulatory approvals. |
