GAIL wins Occupational Health and Safety Award

The compressor station of GAIL at Hazira has won the prestigious 'Golden Peacock Award for Occupational Health & Safety "� 2008.

The award was presented to GAIL at the Global Convention on Climate Change at Himachal Pradesh. Justice P N Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Member, UN Human Rights Commission, was the chairman of the award jury.

The recognition is an acknowledged GAIL's various initiatives in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. GAIL has always given top priority to Health Safety and Environment (HSE) in its operations and has impeccable record in the field of Occupational Health & Safety.

 

GAIL attaches great importance to Safety, Health and Environment in its plants, pipeline systems and work centers as also in the community and its work environment. The Company follows the guidelines and stipulations issued by the concerned Indian Statutory Agencies and Regulatory Bodies like the Central Pollution Control Board and the State Pollution Control Boards with regards to environment.
