Company reaping benefits of India talent after fifth year of operation
Mformation® Technologies, the leading provider of advanced mobile device management (MDM) solutions, announced the fifth year of its India operation, based in Bangalore. The India operation plays a critical role in the company’s product development, QA, and support. Over the past five years, Mformation’s Bangalore Development Center has grown by over 500%. The Bangalore center is also the site of Mformation’s device certification lab, supporting key global mobile device vendors such as HTC, Huawei, Intel, LG, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Symbian and ZTE.
“Mformation made a strategic call on our India operation and the benefits have been tremendous. Our India operation has expanded rapidly over the last five years, growing to nearly 200 highly skilled and educated technical staff,” said Todd DeLaughter, Mformation’s CEO. “This team is a key strategic asset for Mformation and has played a central role in all Mformation product releases over the last 5 years. In addition, certification testing of new devices required by our global operator customers is carried out at our certification labs in Bangalore. Currently more than 4,000 device models have been certified on the Mformation Service Manager™ platform. Maintaining significant advanced mobile software development, technological, and support resources in India has enabled us to build positive relationships with our customers and partners throughout this region and globally.”
Mformation’s operation in India was established in Bangalore in 2005, moving to a new, larger facility in 2008 to support its ongoing expansion. The India operation is the central hub for Mformation’s product engineering. All technical activities, including client- and server-side development engineering, quality assurance, device release and certification programs, technical support, R&D, and customer deployment, are driven by the India operation. Mformation’s India team is also responsible for the company’s device client development and prototyping work — covering all mobile operating systems, from Symbian, Windows Mobile and RIM to iPhone and Android.
“Mformation continues to lead the global mobile device management market, with a 75% share of tier-1 operators around the world. Mobile device management is a huge growth market and a key strategic capability for mobile operators. MDM is becoming increasingly critical as smarter devices, new mobile services, and new networks such as 4G and WiMAX are launched,” continued DeLaughter. “India been a great resource for Mformation, with a wealth of world-class teaching institutions producing a base of very well-trained people, and our policy has always been to select the “best of the best” as we grow. We expect to continue investing in India and growing in Bangalore to support the explosive demand for advanced mobile device management capabilities in the region and globally.”
