Godrej Appliances, one of the largest manufacturers of Home Appliances in India, has won the National Energy Conservation Awards 2009 –a prestigious award from the Ministry of Power, Government of India for its Eco-friendly Refrigerators. The Government of India has recognized the eco-friendly technology and manufacturing processes as well as the eco-friendly innovation in design adopted by Godrej Appliances making it a clear winner for this award.
Godrej Appliances has also bagged the Consumer Superbrand 2010 Award for its Refrigerators. Godrej Refrigerators has been repeatedly awarded Consumer Superbrand in its category – the first time being in 2004, followed by 2009. Godrej Refrigerators have defined the Indian market ever since they were introduced and continue to be a leader in the Indian consumer mind space on the strength of continuous innovations guided by unparalleled understanding of the Indian Consumer. This also makes Godrej Appliances the only Indian brand in the consumer durables space to have won this award.
On receiving the National Energy Conservation Awards 2009, Mr. George Menezes – COO, Godrej Appliances, says, “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award from the Government of India for the path breaking work done on the energy efficiency of refrigerators. Indeed this is a clear indication of the brand’s technological edge in the consumer durable space. This recognition motivates us to better ourselves continuously.”
On receiving the Consumer Superbrand Award 2010, Mr. Kamal Nandi, Vice President, Godrej Appliances, says, “We feel truly privileged to be conferred with the Superbrand status for the second time. And the very fact that we have been chosen through a vast nationwide consumer research and by an eminent panel, makes us feel proud about receiving this award”.
Winning both these Awards is a testimony to the fact that efforts of Godrej Appliances have been recognized by both consumers as well as the industry. These recognitions further bolster Godrej Appliances’ commitment to the consumers, which is embedded in their philosophy - ‘Designed by Curiosity’.
Apart from this, the company has also won another highly acclaimed and coveted ‘Suraksha Puraskar’ 2008 in the ‘Manufacturing Sector’ category, awarded by the National Safety Council of India (NSCI). This is the third award in a month for Godrej Appliances, preceded by Consumer Superbrand 2010 and National Energy Conservation Award (BEE) 2009.
