Announcement Corporate

Customers able to re-host their services on enhanced platforms for the development and deployment of mission-critical applications.

Hexaware Technologies, a leading global provider of IT, BPO and consulting services, announced today that it is working with Oracle to enhance its Legacy Modernization services using the Oracle Tuxedo Application Runtime for CICS and Batch 11g and Oracle Tuxedo Application Rehosting Workbench 11g. Oracle Tuxedo 11g, the industry’s #1 application server for mission critical C/C++ and COBOL applications, is designed for running large-scale, reliable distributed enterprise applications that enable businesses to reduce development and deployment costs. Oracle Tuxedo Application Runtime for CICS and Batch provides the mainframe runtimes and, together with the migration tools provided by the Workbench, accelerates and simplifies mainframe migration, while preserving existing application assets.

IT organizations are under constant pressure to increase the ability of businesses to innovate, while controlling and often reducing costs. Legacy Modernization has emerged as a good opportunity for these goals to be achieved. To attain these goals, the organization needs to leverage emerging platforms and consider software innovations. This has to also be on the basis of previous investments made in the business processes within the legacy environment and keeping future goals in perspective.

Legacy applications contain invaluable business logic which is often not documented. Additionally, the re-architecture of legacy applications is a cause of concern for customers. Hexaware will address these concerns by working with Oracle and leveraging Oracle Tuxedo to help customers support critical applications and leverage modern technologies. This modernization will help businesses significantly lower time to market and achieve a higher degree of quality and performance.

“Hexaware has the expertise on legacy modernization services and has helped many customers migrate from their high-cost legacy applications to modern platforms. We have executed over 20 million lines of legacy code migration into modern technologies. We are excited about our collaboration with Oracle to provide service offerings for migration of legacy applications to Oracle's robust, proven stack. With our vast experience in this domain, this partnership will provide future-proof Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to our customers”, said Ramanan R V, President Global Delivery and Chief Software Architect, Hexaware Technologies, Ltd.

”Modernization solutions using our new Oracle Tuxedo Application Runtime for CICS and Batch and Oracle Tuxedo Application Rehosting Workbench can speed up and reduce the cost and risk associated with mainframe re-hosting projects,” said Lance Knowlton, Vice President, Platform Migrations at Oracle. “Working with partners like Hexaware, who have deep expertise in legacy modernization, provides our joint customer with tremendous value by enabling them to achieve a faster return on their mainframe migration projects.”

As part of this effort, Oracle will provide training to Hexaware’s technical team in addition to field and technical support. Hexaware will develop proof of concepts towards modernizing the applications in various technologies/platforms and thus create a distinct service offering for migration to Oracle Tuxedo. Oracle and Hexaware will engage in joint go-to-market activities to take this combined offering to customers.

Hexaware is also a Gold level member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork.
