Announcement Corporate

From February 28 until December 31 2012, 25 hotels in Brussels will be offering buffet breakfasts with a gourmet assortment of local delicacies. This initiative will allow customers of the hotels involved and local inhabitants to discover products that Brussels and Belgium are very proud of in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This campaign is part of the Brussels year of gastronomy, Brusselicious 2012.

The BHA (Brussels Hotel Association), who initiated this campaign, introduced their Brusselicious Breakfasts concept at a press conference on February 28, 2012 in the presence of the Minister-president of the COCOF, Christos Doulkeridis who has lent his support to the project. To show their commitment and emphasize the fruitful collaboration put in place, the chefs from the participating hotels and several of the producers/craftsmen whose products will be showcased during these colorful buffets, were also present.

The Brusselicious Breakfasts campaign aims to honor products that represent the local Brussels cuisine. The participating hotels will be serving no less than 8 local and handmade products labeled ‘Brusselicious’. The hotels have received a thematic guide including a nonexhaustive list of 32 products from the various breakfast categories that will allow them to establish their menus and will transform an ordinary breakfast into an extraordinary breakfast. Customers will be able to discover and savor these products and many others from the buffets from February 28, 2012 for no additional fee. They will be able to enjoy bread rolls, fruit loaves, waffles, raisin pastries, strawberry jam from Wépion, Liège syrup, honey, grey prawns, Ardenne ham, pâtés de champagne, abbey cheeses, cherry yoghurts, bio apple juice, proper hot chocolate and many more …

Taking into account the occupancy rates of the participating hotels and various other factors, no less than 500 000 visitors will have access to these typical local breakfasts. Brusselicious therefore hopes to gain the fidelity of the international clientele that will be visiting the city until the end of the year by offering regional and typical specialties. The aim of this campaign is also to invite people who live and work in Brussels to have their breakfast in these hotels and to rediscover the city’s delicacies. Brusselicious aims to promote the local Brussels gastronomy thanks to several events, and the BHA, in collaboration with VISITBRUSSELS and the Minister-president of the COCOF in charge of tourism, wish to showcase the local gastronomical culture and cuisine. This makes the campaign an original and gourmet way of attracting and gaining the loyalty of the Brussels hotels’ customers; whilst combining the quality of the Brussels hotels’ services and the know-how of the local producers and craftsmen.

The objective of this campaign is to reinforce and facilitate the relations between the hotels in Brussels, their chefs and the local producers.

Throughout the year, no less than 500 000 scrumptious Brusselicious Breakfasts will be served in hotels in Brussels. For more information about the participating hotels and the products that will be featured, go to www.brusselicious.be
