Brings Interactive Distance Learning to working executives in India and abroad to enhance career growth
Designed to give working executives a career edge, IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) in collaboration with Hughes Net Global Education offers its Executive Post Graduate Programme (ePGP) in Management on an Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) platform. The programme, with the help of interactive classroom sessions, aims to provide management education to working professionals to enhance their skills and enable them to complete their post graduation from an IIM. The initial program was launched in 2009 and was very successful with 150 working professionals registering and getting certified.
Addressing media persons Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK said, “IIMK is focused on learning as a tool to upgrade skills and improve career prospects. We believe that though an individual may have missed the chance to do continuous education, it should not come in the way of his/ her career growth. The entire value system is to promote education. We are poised to carry the IIMK brand international and hence we believed that this route was a good start. IIMK is committed to create leaders of tomorrow. To this end, we have partnered with Hughes Net Global Education who have excellent platform for classroom learning.”
The two year course comprises 810 classroom instruction hours and 90 hours on campus learning. During the first year, the curriculum focuses on general management while in the second year the participants specialize in two functional areas from Marketing, Finance, Strategy and Operations Management.

This course is designed to provide a thorough understanding of specialized management functions and thus enable students to advance in their careers by way of promotions and better jobs in areas of their interest and is similar to the residential PGP program available at IIM-K,” Prof. Debashish Chatterjee further added.
The entry to the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management is open to graduates/ CA/ ICWAI who have at least 5 years of work experience. Applicants have to go through an Executive Management Aptitude Test (eMAT) conducted by IIM-K every year followed by an interview through Interactive Onsite Learning (IOL) platform. However, the testing parameters are very stringent and only about 10% of the 1500 who answered the exam qualified.After successful completion of the ePGP, the participants are awarded a certificate 'Executive Post Graduate Diploma in General Management' (ePGDM) by IIMK.
The programme fee for ePGP has been increased from Rs. 4,00,000 to Rs. 4,99,000 this year which includes books and materials. However, the fees do not include the expenses of travel and stay in Kozhikode for the compulsory modules conducted at the IIMK campus in Kozhikode for one week each during each term
