Asia Knowledge Associates is organizing a two day conclave and exhibition on Stem cell therapy named “India Stem Cell Conclave & India Stem Cell Exhibition 2010”. The conclave & exhibition will be held on October 23rd and 24th at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai. Whilst the conclave aims to debate on the challenges facing the stem cell industry by the industry experts, the exhibition which is a first of its kind in India offers a comprehensive knowledge to the common man on the various benefits of stem cell therapy, its reach and utility.

Lisa Ray, celebrity and actress, said “I have been one of the few beneficiaries of what a stem cell therapy has to offer. The conclave and exhibition are close to my heart. Together with Asia Knowledge Associates I endeavor to create a platform for educating and creating awareness amongst the people on various stem cell therapies available, its benefits and its potential in India. It is indeed my privilege to be a part of the forthcoming stem cell conclave and do my bit on ‘patient advocacy for the stem cell in India ‘I am happy to have been associated with this noble cause”.

Speaking on the initiative, Prasanna Armugam, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Knowledge Associates said, this conclave will be a wonderful meeting-ground for Industry Experts, Investors, Practitioners, and Analysts. Along with the conclave, we will be hosting India’s first premier Stem Cell Exhibition; this expo will be concurrently running with the conclave and will be open to public from all walks of life to participate. For many, this will be a first time opportunity to get in-depth information on stem cell storage, clinical treatments and also come face to face with the people behind the stem cell industry. Most people are not even aware that an alternate treatment in stem cell exists. Along with Ms.Lisa Ray we aim to create a movement for stem cell in India by reaching out directly to the citizens of India who matter the most and hold the key to the development of this industry.

He further added, key takeaway at the conclave would be to understand the current trends in the stem cell research, commercialization aspects in India, understand the business model of stem cell banks in India, guidance on investment in stem cell research and technology, along with the key understanding on the regulatory framework and guidelines for stem cell research and treatment in India.
