Indian firms set to showcase the latest technology in BroadcastAsia 2010

Over 10 Indian companies including Tata Telecommunications, RSG Media Systems, Broadcast & Cablesat, Decisioncraft Inc etc. will feature their latest technologies at the 15th edition of BroadcastAsia, Asia’s leading digital multimedia and entertainment technology event, from 15 – 18 June 2010 at the Singapore Expo. With Broadcast industry entering a new exciting phase of 3D technology that has an impact on mobile gaming, virtual worlds, television industry and even broadcasting industry, Indian broadcast industry is quickly making its plans to embrace 3D technology in every aspect which is happening across the four screens of TV, cinema, mobile and PC. 

BroadcastAsia2010 is Asia’s leading digital multimedia and entertainment technology event that will feature new 3D and Digital Signage technologies as well as the latest digital and high definition equipment and integrated workflow solutions for the broadcasting, production and post-production industries. The leading trade exhibition will showcase solutions and equipment for the entire media value chain - from content creation to delivery. The six dedicated programmes during the event will discuss key issues like how to embrace and engage the future of your broadcasting business, evaluate digital multimedia for and across all platforms, the latest developments in the new TV model and what’s in store in filebased workflow and digital asset management. The race in 3D broadcasting trials and launches is hotting up this year. Broadcasters and production companies can look forward to the latest 3D broadcasting technologies, equipment and applications at BroadcastAsia’s new 3D cluster. The spotlight within the 3D cluster will focus on various Acquisition process and Streaming media platform. Sports, movies and gaming are genres that the industry expects will become popular in the living room and the FIFA World Cup coming in June will surely act as the catalyst to dramatically increase the pace of content development. With Asia being home to top TV and audio electronics manufacturers such as Sony and Panasonic, the region is emerging as a leader in 3D. 

The 3D Industry in India is similarly booming as Indian audiences demand more 3D films, seen as the next big game changer in entertainment. Given the thriving media industry and Bollywood appeal, both the broadcasting and post production sectors are big opportunities for the exhibitors looking to offer services/technology to this vast market. According to reports, the Indian Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry, which stood at Rs 587 billion in 2009, is projected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth rate (CAGR) of 13 per cent to reach the size of Rs 1,091 billion by 2014 . BroadcastAsia2010 will provide the Indian companies a platform to export their growing capabilities and know-how to the region. 

The event will also bring together industry leaders and niche players worldwide that are keen to network and explore new revenue models and strategic partnerships. Around 9,447 visitors came from 92 countries to network, purchase and source at BroadcastAsia2009. “We expect BroadcastAsia2010 to be about 10 per cent bigger this year based on strong exhibitor response to date. This international exhibition will feature leading companies from 42 countries and group pavilions from France, China, Germany, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Spain, UK, USA and WorldDMB,” said Mr Calvin Koh, Senior Project Manager of show organiser Singapore Exhibition Services. “This year’s show will also have a larger showcase of Asian companies, many of which see BroadcastAsia2010 as an ideal launch pad to expand their presence in Asia and beyond.”
