The International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi in association with Indian Industrial Relations Association (IIRA) and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung will host “Tritiyansh 09” on 4th December, 2009 at International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi, B-10, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi.

Organised by Human Edge the HR/IR community at IMI the theme for this year’s event is ‘Industrial Relations: En-gendered or En-dangered’ emphasizing on the paradigm shifts and the road ahead for IR.

Some issues that will be discussed over the summit will include “Women in IR- a Success Story or a Futile Struggle , “Recent and Emerging Trends in Industrial Relations (IR)”, “How physically secure is the field of Industrial Relations (IR) today”, “The Changing faces of Industrial Relations (IR)” and “Are Unions Relevant in there times of Globalization?"

 

IR as a field has transcended confines but remains a male dominated field. Along with this, the summit will also address the pervasive sentiment in the industry that IR as a field is losing its status.

“Tritiyansh”- The Annual Industrial Relations Summit will celebrate the confluence of Management, Union and Workers underscoring contemporary issues faced by the IR in the global milieu. Panel discussions by illustrious professionals from the industry and enlightening debating sessions by eminent people from the field of law, media and corporate world would form the pivotal part of the summit. A white paper competition for budding IR specialists would also be part of the agenda for the day.

The IR summit will also see an inter b-school paper presentation competition based on the topic: The Changing Face of Industrial Relations (IR) where, judged by a panel comprising of distinguished judges six shortlisted teams will present their papers for a prize of Rs 30,000/-.

“Are Trade Unions Relevant in this world of Globalization?” will be the topic of the debate - Paripekshya- a debate aimed at highlighting the importance of the labour forces in India, will be held at the IMI Amphitheatre, From 6:30 PM TO 8:00 PM.
