Feature of tracks by national/ international experts on clinical research, CDM, Biostatistics & Medical Writing
The Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) is organizing its 3rd Annual conference in Bengaluru over a 2 day session on January 8-9, 2010 at Hotel Leela Kempinski. In keeping with the conference theme, the main objective of this scientific conference is to deliberate on the developments taking place in the clinical research arena impinging ‘Science, Business and Society’. The conference will be inaugurated by ISCR President, Dr Arun Bhatt (President, Clininvent Research Pvt Ltd) with the presence of DCGI President Dr Surinder Singh and IPA President Dr B Suresh. The event will feature panel discussions, speaker series and workshops focused on the 2 key tracks running parallel – Clinical Research as well as CDM, Biostatistics and Medical Writing.
Speaking on the conference, ISCR General Secretary, Dr Krathish Bopanna (Senior Vice President, Asia, Ecron Acunova), said “This conference will provide an excellent opportunity to clinical researchers to interact, review current scenario globally, report findings/present papers and share knowledge and expertise from the faculty. Apart from reputed national speakers, this conference has invited several international speakers from FDA and reputed EU & US organizations like Pfizer, Quintiles, ICON to name a few. In the Clinical Research track, topics like “Regulatory issues for Biologics” and “medical devices” will be covered. There will be two Panel discussions on “Ethical issues of trials with vulnerable populations” and on “Investigator Site Issues,” among others. In the CDM, Biostatistics track, topics like “Data Standards in Clinical Research: Challenges and future directions”, Strategies and case studies in CDISC implementation, Integrating multiple technologies in data management, and Experiences with eCTD submissions along with “Medical Writing Dimensions and Publication hurdles” will also be discussed among others. The 2-day annual scientific conference is a must attend annual event for all stakeholders in clinical research for professional development and networking.
As part of the annual conference, 4 Pre-conference workshops on January 6 & 7, 2010 have been scheduled at Hotel Royal Orchid, Bangalore. The workshops will focus on Study Management, transitioning from CTD to eCTD, CDISC SDTM and Improved Functioning of Ethics Committees.
