Jaypee Cement, the cement division of Jaiprakash Associate Limited today launched the PP bags for the packaging of cement. It is for the first time in India any cement company has launched such innovative technique for the packaging of cement. The PP bags will change the way cement was packaged and sold in the market so far. The laminated packaging system of PP bags ensures that the quality of cement remains intact even in the extreme adverse conditions. The environment friendly new packaging system will also ensure that the quantity of cement will remain intact during transportation.
Company brand ambassador world famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated the new packaging system in Zirakpur today. Present in the occasion were Mr. Rahul Kumar, COO, Jaypee Cement; Mr. Shiva Dixit, Executive vice president, Jaypee Cement many other senior official from Jaypee Group.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rahul Kumar, COO, Jaypee Cement said, “Jaypee Group is a diverse business entity and deals in infrastructure, power, cement, real estate, hotels and education. The group is doing business of around Rs.7000 Cr. Annually.”
“In next two years Jaypee Cement will produce 360 lakh tons of cement. Today it is India’s third largest cement manufacturer and the company is increasing its production capacity by commissioning new plans on a regular basis”, he further added.
The launch coincided with the company’s annual dealer meet. Dealers across the country participated in the event. Jaypee Cement has been able to maintain a strong grip in the market because of its strong customer response and satisfaction. The fact that the company is today associated with more than 3000 dealers indicate that the customers strongly believe in the company. The company is thankful to all the dealers for being associated with the company all these while.

The Cement Division of Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. (JAL) has 6 state-of-the-art, fully computerized Integrated Cement Plants (ICPs), 3 Grinding Units & 1 Blending Unit with an aggregate capacity of 13.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). JAL is in the process of setting up new capacities in Northern, Central, Western & Southern parts of the country and is targeting a capacity of 25 MTPA by 2010 and 35 MTPA by 2011, along with 375 MW of Captive Thermal Power Plants (CPPs).
