1)Jet Airways (India) Ltd. has become the first private airline to establish its own Hangar in Mumbai, to carry out major & line maintenance checks for its fleet of Boeing and ATR aircraft. This hangar can accommodate two Boeing Aircraft 737-series plus one ATR Aircraft at any given time. Set up at a cost of USD 15 million, the Hangar is capable of undertaking 'C' check and major maintenance work for Boeing 737-series aircraft as also for ATR aircraft.Commenting on the airline's new Hangar, Chief Executive Officer, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said "this significant improvement in the maintenance infrastructure of Jet Airways will form a solid basis for the further expansion of the airline" The state-of-the-art hangar is equipped with workshops for taking care of independent modules like Avionics, Hydraulic, Composite panel repair, furnishing & seat repair, sheet metal, cleaning-painting, wheels & brakes shop and engine storage area. The building services and facilities includes floor mounted/mobile docking system, compressed air installation, overhead crane system, electrical installation, fire fighting and ventilation, elevators and industrial effluent treatment plant. The hangar is built over a plot area of 13,140 sq. mts along with a basement sprawling across 3,500 sq. mts. The 72 mts. span roof of the hangar is reinforced by structural steel trusses on RCC columns. 2) In a move that is set to redefine in-flight entertainment for domestic air travelers, Jet Airways today unveiled the "SKY SCREEN". This revolutionary new in-flight entertainment system will offer Jet Airways' customers on demand audio and video entertainment in both the Club Premiere and Economy classes. Passengers on"�board Jet Airways' new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft with winglets will also have access to over 100 hours of award wining shows from Bollywood and Hollywood, eight audio channels and over 70 audio CDs, games and iXplor - an innovative moving map that gives locational insights into the flight plan. Jet Airways, which took delivery of the newest Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Seattle on August 31, 2006, will deploy this aircraft initially on three domestic sectors. The aircraft which will operate daily on the Mumbai-Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Hyderabad-Mumbai and Mumbai-Bangalore-Mumbai sectorshas 24 seats in Club Premiere and 126 seats in Economy class. The aircraft, with state-of-the-art Panasonic eFX system, has nine inch video monitors mounted with touch screens in Club Premiere and a seven inch touch screen monitor at the back of every seat in economy class. These individual LCD screens are currently the biggest in the Indian skies and equipped for over 100 hours of audio/video programmes from Hollywood and Bollywood. Jet Airways' programming content for its domestic customers will include a wide array of award winning Hollywood & Bollywood shows, encompassing every gamut of entertainment from lifestyle and comedy to drama, fashion, showbiz, travel, food, nature and wide life.. The Sky Screen will also cater to the quintessential business travelers with updated business bulletins and to the sports buffs alike. Also included is dedicated children's programming ranging from shows like the Malgudi days to movies such as Ice Age 2. For the audiophiles, Jet Airways' presents an exclusive audio compilation, including a Jaggu and Tarana Special, over 70 audio CDS with Jukebox feature with an option of a personalized play list of upto 50 tracks.
