India’s largest manufacturer of BOPET & BOPP films, Jindal Poly films, today reported its quarterly profit & revenue numbers with a 75% rise in revenue and a massive 359 % jump in the net profit for the quarter ended September 30th, 2010
While the company saw its net profit touching Rs 180 crores for 2nd Quarter, which is a Rs. 140.58 crores rise over the corresponding period last year, its net sales increased by nearly 75 per cent to Rs 687.34 crores in the reporting quarter.
The Director - Marketing, Mr. Samir Banerjee, commenting on the performance said, “We are seeing a strong demand environment across our industry verticals. Due to this we have gained substantially over the past few months which have helped us increase our margin.
Owing to a rise in demand for flexible packaging BOPET film prices have shown a 130% rise from Rs. 98/kg in April 2010 to Rs. 225/kg at present.
Mr. Samir Banerjee further added, “This is mainly seen due to an increase in usage in back up films for solar power cells, touch screen panels of mobile phones & flat screen in LCD & LEDs including other innovative objects that use BOPET films for installation”.
