V. Philip appointed as the designated CEO, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance
Kamesh Goyal, has been appointed as CEO of Allianz Asia Pacific and would be based at Singapore. He is currently the Country Manager, Allianz and MD & CEO, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance and would continue to remain as Allianz Country Manager for India.
V. Philip, currently COO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has been designated as the new CEO, effective from 1st February 2011 and subject to approval from IRDA.
Commenting on the new appointments, Sanjiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Finserv Limited, said, “I am confident that Philip, who has been with Bajaj Allianz since inception, would be able to maintain the leadership position of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance. Hemant Kaul would continue to lead Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. Both the companies continue to do well in the current environment. I congratulate Kamesh on his new role and am also happy that his continued involvement in Indian operations with me will provide continuity.”

Kamesh Goyal had joined Allianz in 1999 and was the COO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance in 2001. He took over as its CEO in 2004. He took over as Country Manager and MD & CEO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance in 2007. Both the companies are among the leading private insurers in India.
V. Philip, has been with Bajaj Allianz since inception in 2001 in various roles and as COO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance for the past two years.
