KL Tower to promote wedding tourism as main product to woo tourists

The KL Tower in Malaysia will promote wedding tourism as their main product too to attract more local and foreign tourists to use the tower as their preferred choice to host wedding receptions said its Chief Executive Officer, Zuraida Mohd Said.

Zuraida said that under the marriage package called "Wedding Made in the Sky" that was initiated since 2008, 35 couples had held their wedding at the fourth tallest tower in the world.

"We hope by promoting wedding tourism, more people locals and foreigners will choose this country, especially KL Tower, as their main choice for wedding ceremonies," she told reporters after witnessing the solemnization ceremony of six Malaysian Chinese couples and a mixed couple of Malaysian-British at the KL Tower, Sunday.

 

The event was jointly organized by the KL Tower and Bell Notes with the support from the National Registration Department (NRD).

All seven couples were solemnized by NRD officer, I. Ramani and at the same time, they were also greeted by seven base jumpers from the top of KL Tower.

Zuraida said, each couple was charged RM25,000, which includes reception ceremony at the Open Terrace, photo session and also a gift.

She said, KL Tower will introduce more interesting marriage packages such as Malay weddings early next year at the Mega view Banquet and Open Deck Terrace.

"We hope by introducing this package, more Malay couples who prefer to hold their weddings at hotels and villages will be interested with this package," she said.
