L&T IES Process Engineering Conclave 2010

L&T Integrated Engineering Services (IES) in association with CII had organized the Process Engineering Conclave 2010 on 25 June, 2010, at L&T Knowledge City, Vadodara.  The theme of the event was to “Collaborate, Innovate, and Create (CInC) Ideas for the Process Industry”.  This was the ‘first-of-its-kind’ event that provided a platform to meet, strategize, network, and capture ‘out-of-the-box’ ideas and explore the potential for sustainable process engineering. Major process manufacturing companies like ONGC, SABIC, Reliance, Essar, Hindustan Zinc, GSFC, GNFC, etc. imparted momentum to this event through their presence.

Dr. Anil Kane, President of the World Wind Energy Association and also the Chairman of the Indian Wind Energy Association, was the Honorable Chief Guest for the event. He provided valuable insights in to the challenges & opportunities in Process Industries and how Process Industries can play a significant role in adopting and promoting sustainable engineering practices.  He also emphasized on the need for robust industry-academia partnerships for innovations in sustainable engineering practices.

 

Mr. V K Magapu, L&T Board Director and Senior Executive Vice President welcomed the guests to the event and spoke about L&T IES’ experiences in the Process Engineering domain. He said that Process Industries are as vital as Product Industries for the development of the economy and self-sufficiency of the nation.  Process Industries touch millions of lives every day, hence, relentless innovation is necessary to continuously improve living standards of the people.

Mr. D J Dalal, Chief Delivery Operations Officer, L&T IES thanked all panel members, guests, participants, and their contribution to make this event a success.

L&T IES took this opportunity to those who made showcase its suite of sustainable process engineering solutions.  The guests were urged to provide their valuable suggestions through panel discussions on topics such as Green Design, Asset Sweating, and Plant Agility.  Eminent experts like Mr. Jayant Shukla (Fluor Ltd.), Mr. Samir Sabnis (AIMIL Ltd.), Mr. Dinesh Udpa (L&T-Chiyoda), Mr. Dinesh Yadav and others shared their thoughts on these topics of industry-wide importance.

The event turned out to be huge success in bringing great minds together and ended with a resolve to collaborate in order to innovate and create engineering solutions which would help to overcome the challenges in the Process Industry.
