L&T Secures Rs 966 cr Orders from Metallurgical & Water Sectors

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Metallurgical, Material Handling & Water Operating Company – a part of its Construction Division has secured Orders aggregating Rs. 966 Crores from Customers like Sterlite Industries India Limited, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam & Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited. This includes Rs. 225 Crores Order from the Metallurgical Sector and Rs. 741 Crores Orders from the Water Sector.

Metallurgical Sector
The company has secured an Order valued at Rs. 225 Crores from Sterlite Industries India Limited for the construction of 4 lakh TPA Smelter Plant at Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu). The scope of the project involves complete Civil & Structural works for Concentrate Handling Area, Smelter & Refinery, Acid Plants & Utilities including Engineering. The project is to be completed in 18 months.

 

The above Order secured from the major player in the Non-Ferrous Metallurgical Sector clearly indicates the enormous trust the Customer has on L&T’s expertise in Engineering, Construction and Project Procurement / Management.

Water Sector
The Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam has entrusted L&T with Rs.488 Crores Order for implementing JnNURM Scheme. Out of this Rs. 274 Crores will go to provide Sewage System to Varanasi City in 30 months, Rs. 121 Crores to provide Water Supply to Allahabad City in 24 months and Rs. 93 Crores to Waste Water Management System for Mathura Town in 24 months.

The Company has also secured Rs. 253 Crores Order from Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited, Government of Gujarat for implementing NC-24 Water Supply Scheme in Gujarat, to be completed in 18 months.
