Lanco's APCL wins Energy Efficient Unit Award

Lanco’s Aban Power Company Ltd has won the National “Energy Efficient Unit” award instituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Godrej GBC.

Lanco’s Aban Power Company Ltd is a 119.8 MW gas-based combined cycle power plant located at Karupur village in the Tanjore district of Tamil Nadu. The Operation and Maintenance of the Plant is carried out by Lanco’s own in-house team. Shortlisted from a total of 137 contestants, Lanco’s APCL emerged as a winner on account of its innovative and proactive measures implemented to conserve electrical and thermal energy in day-to-day operations.

The jury that adjudged the winner of this prestigious award for Energy Efficiency comprised leading professionals and eminent personalities from across the country.

 

Lanco’s APCL has drawn wide appreciation and commendations for initiatives for achieving global standards in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Specific Energy Consumption (SEC). Reliance Energy Limited was the runner-up in the power plant category.
