Up two places over last year; shares spot with Honda |
Mumbai August 29, '06: Mahindra & Mahindra is ranked fourth in the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2006 India Sales Satisfaction Index Study, which was announced on August 23 2006. M&M shares the 4th spot with Japanese auto giant Honda scoring 768 points. |
M&M is up two places from last year's survey, wherein the company was placed 6th on the prestigious study. Mahindra was the most improved brand in the 2005 J. D. Power Asia Pacific rankings. |
Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Vice President, Marketing, M&M Automotive Sector said, "M&M has been on an overdrive in its mission to become a customer centric corporation. The improvement in the rankings is the result of this initiative. The significant part of our rise is that we have achieved the SSI growth against competition from global players and we are the first major UV player in the ranking." |
Since last year, M&M increased its SSI score by four points to 768 in a 1000-point scale. The industry average this time is 772 points as against 766 last year. |
Three of the top five companies in the 2006 study are multi-national players. Maruti Suzuki is on top with 795 points, Skoda second with 784, Hyundai with 771 and sharing the fourth spot with M&M is Honda. M&M is above Chevrolet, Toyota, Ford and Tata in the Rankings. |
The study, according to a communiqué on the J.D. Power website, is in its seventh year and is based on feedback from vehicle owners with sales and delivery experience of two to six months. For the 2006 survey, 4,562 people owning 37 different kinds of vehicles were surveyed from March 2006 to May 2006. |
