* Donates 2 Scorpios to leading NGOs on the eve of India's Independence Day |
MUMBAI, AUGUST 14 '07: To commemorate the rolling out of Mahindra's 2 millionth vehicle in July 2007, achieving a significant sales milestone, Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it will donate two Scorpios to leading NGOs. These include the Uttar Pradesh based Sri. Ram Krishna Sewa Sadan Cancer Hospital & Research Institute and the Naandi Foundation- Udaipur. Present on the occasion were Mr. Keshub Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive Sector, M&M, and other senior dignitaries from Mahindra & Mahindra. |
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Keshub Mahindra said, "The Mahindra Group's destiny is inexorably linked to India's. As India celebrates her 60th Independence Day, it is fitting that a company that brought the jeep to the country in the early 1950s is now celebrating rolling out its 2 millionth vehicle. Corporate Social Responsibility is at the core of our business philosophy and I am happy that we are using occasions like these to give back in a small measure to society." |
A delighted Dr. Pawan Goenka said, "The roll out of the 2 millionth vehicle is an indicator of our exponential growth in the industry as an automaker. Over the last 60 years volumes have grown at the rate of 9% per annum, CAGR in the last 5 years has been 22%. UV sales accounted for 82%, LCVs "� 9%, 3 wheelers "� 6% and exports contributed 3% to the 2 million mark. Mahindra's products are both affordable and highly aspirational. M&M clocking good sales numbers is the reflection of the innovation Mahindra has passed on to its vehicles." |
