Mahindra to hike prices of UV range

Mumbai, December 19, 2007: Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the leader in the UV segment in India, has announced a price hike for its utility vehicle range up to Rs. 10,000 per vehicle. This increase will come into effect from January 1, 2008.

The hike in prices is due to the increase in the cost of raw material. In November 2007, M&M launched the Scorpio V-series, a new line-up of India's leading SUV, with the introduction of the Scorpio VLX which has further fueled growth in volumes. The key growth driver for M&M is the Bolero, which continues to grow at a rate of 30 per cent in the seventh year of its existence. In the commercial vehicle segment, M&M products continue to beat the industry average this year.
