MARG Ind bags Rs 38 cr order for fabrication of wagons

MARG Ltd (BSE: 530543), an infrastructure development company, is foraying into the fabrication of wagon with a new order win from Braithwaite & Co Ltd (BCL). MARG EPC’s Industrial Project division has bagged the order worth Rs 37.66 Crore from Braithwaite & Co Ltd which includes fabrication and assembly of 247 BTFLN wagons in the workshop of BCL including supply of components and consumables except raw steel.

The scope of work includes total fabrication, assembly, fitment of components, painting & finishing etc. of 247 BTFLN (FF) wagon including supply of components & consumables except raw steel, wheel set (without bearings) & dished ends for Braithwaite & Co Ltd (BCL). This will include all types of preparation of total fabrication, drilling, fitting, riveting, huck-bolting, welding, grinding, chipping, cleaning, finishing, handling, wheeling etc., testing of dye-penetration test of welding joints, air brake test of wagon, pneumatic testing, hydraulic testing, shot blasting, painting & lettering of the wagon etc. The total timeframe for completion of this project of fabricating 247 wagons will be approximately seven months (40 wagons per month as specified by BCL) subject to timely availability of the raw steel, wheel set & dished ends (which are to be provided by Braithwaite).

BTFLN wagon is a new and improved frameless Bogie Tanker Wagon used primarily for liquid petroleum products (petrol, naphtha, kerosene, diesel, furnace oil, etc.), and also for vegetable oil and other liquid cargo. This wagon is an improvement over BTPN wagon. The Bogie Pol Tank Wagon Type BTFLN was first developed by “RITES” in collaboration with “AZOVMASH” of Ukraine. Wagons are fitted with CASNUB Bogies, Couplers, Air Brake System and other Components. Spare infrastructure facility along with electricity required for undertaking this work is provided by BCL in its Victoria Works in Victoria.

 

Braithwaite & Co. Ltd is one of the largest Wagon manufacturers in India with three manufacturing units having been accredited with ISO 9001: 2000 quality standards for wagons, cranes, foundry products and heavy structural. The company was registered and incorporated on 1st December 1976 as a fully owned Govt. of India Undertaking. The company today has three units - Clive Works, Victoria Works both in Calcutta and Angus Works (in Hooghly District), West Bengal.
