Maruti Q2 net up 40% to Rs 367.4cr

New Delhi, October 26, 2006: Maruti Udyog Limited registered Total Income of Rs 35408.9 million (Net of Excise) during the second quarter (Q2) of the fiscal (July-September 2006), a growth of 12.52 percent over the same period last year.
 
Profit Before Tax went up to Rs 5346.3 million during Q2 of 2006-07, a growth of 38.41 percent over the same period last year. Net Profit stood at Rs 3674.4 million, up 39.89 percent over July-September 2005.
 
First half
 
With this, Total Income (Net of Excise) for the first half of the fiscal (April-September 2006) was Rs 68096.6 million, a growth of 16 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Net Profit stood at Rs 7370.1 million, up 50.68 percent over April-September 2005.
 
Unit Sales
 
The company's domestic sales during Q2 (July"�Sept 2006) grew 16.2 % over the same period last fiscal. The company sold 157,683 vehicles during the quarter, including 8,165 units of exports.
 
During the first half of this year, Maruti's sales grew by 18 per cent in the domestic car market. In the same period, the A1 & A2 car segment, showed a higher growth of 19 per cent.
