Maruti Q3 net up 11% to Rs 376.41 crore

New Delhi, January 22, 2007: Car market leader Maruti Udyog Limited announced its results for the quarter ending 31st December 2006.
 
 
Merger of MSAIL with Maruti Udyog Limited
 
 
The financial results take into account the impact of the merger of company's wholly owned subsidiary Maruti Suzuki Automobiles India Limited (MSAIL) with itself, with effect from 1st April 2006. The merger has been approved during the quarter October-December 2006.
 
 
October "� December 2006 Unit Sales
 
 
The company's domestic sales during Q3 (October - December 2006) grew 18.7 per cent over the same period last fiscal. The company sold 172,181 vehicles during the quarter, including 9,073 units of exports.
 
 
October "� December 2006 Financial Results
 
 
The company registered Total Income (Net of Excise) of Rs 38,079 million during October-December 2006, a growth of 18.3 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year.
 
 
Net profit during October-December 2006 stood at Rs 3764.1 million, up 11 per cent over October-December 2005.
 
 
The above takes into account a loss of Rs 546.1 million incurred by MSAIL (Merged with Maruti Udyog Limited with effect from 1st April 2006, as per the order of the Hon'ble High Court, registered with Registrar of Companies, NCT of Delhi and Haryana on 13th November 2006) during the period 1st April 2006 to 31st December 2006 of which Rs 213.2 million relates to the period 1st April 2006 to 30th September 2006.
 
 
Cumulative Financial Results (April-December 2006)
 
 
Maruti registered Total Income (Net of Excise) of Rs 106,175.6 million during the first nine months (April-December) of this fiscal, a growth of 16.8 per cent over the same period of the previous year.
 
 
Net profit stood at Rs 11,134.2 million, up 34.45 per cent over April-December 2005.
