Maya Academy to organize SRIJAN - Edufair 2010 in Mumbai

Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), India’s leading educator in high-end 3D Animation and Visual Effects is organizing a series of Edufairs, SRIJAN 2010 across the country to promote knowledge about the exciting field of 3D Animation and Visual Effects and also showcase the best work of students in this field.

The first of the series was held in New Delhi on 8th May, 2010, which was attended by over 3000 students across north India. The second SRIJAN 2010 is being organized in Mumbai on 26th May 2010 at Nehru Centre, Worli at 9 am onwards. Over 3000 students and animation enthusiasts are expected to visit the SRIJAN Mumbai this year. The event will have some of the most renowned studios on session panel such as, Rhythm & Hues, Pixion and Trine Entertainment Ltd.

 

Speaking about the festival, Mr. Ram Warrier, Business Head, MAAC, said, “Srijan– Edufair is organized with an objective of educating the students about the balanced role of technology with 3D Animation and Visual Effects industry and also providing them an opportunity to interact with the industry experts. SRIJAN is the right platform for students to portray their talent & creative work and also an opportunity to get a job in some of the leading global studios.”

The highlights of the event are overview of the animation industry by Aijaz Rashid from Pixion who will throw light on the production pipeline. Yiannis Koumoutzelis from Trine Entertainment Ltd will be speaking about ‘Breaking In’ for gaming studios and Namita Gotephode from Rhythm & Hues will be illustrating the process of making a showreel.

It will be followed by an innovative concept ‘Job Magnet’ wherein Prime Focus, Reliance Mediaworks and Trine Entertainment Ltd. would conduct “Live interviews” at the fair both for MAAC students as also for external candidates. SRIJAN would also be conducting live contest on games and Digital painting by WACOM. ‘MAAC Career Advice Helpdesk’ at the event will guide students towards making a successful career in the field of animation and visual effects.

After Mumbai, SRIJAN will be held in Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, making it the premier Edufair of its kind.
