Messe Frankfurt unveils 'Beautyworld India 2008'

The country's first International Trade Fair for beauty and wellness attracts global brands

Beautyworld India 2008 the country’s first professional fair for cosmetics, spa and wellness organized by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt. Ltd was inaugurated today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The fair will be held from Oct 03 – 06, 2008.

‘Beautyworld India 2008’, the country’s first truly international trade fair for the Indian and global cosmetic industry, featured manufacturers from USA, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Canada, Taiwan, Argentina, Australia, the Far East and Pakistan besides a large number of Indian beauty and wellness brands.

Running parallel to the fair, the company also organized a series of seminars, panel discussions and workshops at Beautyworld India 2008. There were demonstrations and insights from leading international names from the industry that included the world famous French perfumer Christine Nagel, nail artist Cornelia Wolfram from Germany, cosmetologists, anti-age therapists, makeup artists and corporate leaders among others.

 

Speaking at the occasion Ms. Shammi Nagpal, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt India, stated, “We are very happy to receive such tremendous response for the fair. Beautyworld India is positioned to be the one stop meeting point for the entire cosmetic industry in this country. The fair offers a platform for the Indian manufacturers to showcase their products, and yet it also provides international manufacturers with a clear picture of the rapidly emerging Indian consumer market and the immense potential for business”. Ms Nagpal further added, “ The large international presence at this fair clearly proves that they are seriously targeting the Indian consumer market even in times of economic downturn”

Over 25 professional international workshops informed and inspired the visitors at Beautyworld India. They featured a wide range of topics for the new market, ranging from perfumery creation, spa management, professional hair care, skin care, contemporary ayurveda, nail care & nail extensions, as well as panel discussions on the retailing of luxury brands in India. Specially invited trade visitors were able to take in the latest techniques and innovations in the cosmetic and spa industry. A high level of visitor competence satisfied the international exhibitors.

The range of products on display varied from France’s premium hair & body care products, Australia’s famous skin cosmetics, German perming kits, eyelash balms & eye make-up, Chinese’s scented soy wax candles and essential oils, Italian cosmetics, British colour- care systems using natural minerals, crystals, herbs & plants, Turkish high quality toothbrushes & hairbrushes, besides many new interesting Indian products.

The fair offered Indian manufacturers a perfect international platform to showcase their products and services to a global buyer, while international manufacturers showcased their products to the Indian market for future business prospects.

The product range at Beautyworld India includes Wellness and Spas, with cosmetics for face and body, aromatherapy, massage treatments and products, saunas, beauty and slimming clinics and spa resorts; Thermal Baths and Day Spas, Health and Fitness, with spa resorts, hotels and clinics, dietetics and dietary supplements, gym equipment, physiotherapy and physiotherapeutic products. To highlight the importance of Spas and their management as well as architecture, Mr. Jacques Francoise, a specialist in the industry presented daily workshops.

International pavilions from Korea and Singapore added to the product mix of high quality and competitive price, forming a most interesting business backdrop with Indian wholesalers, retailers, agents, manufacturers and suppliers.

Messe Frankfurt India recently organized an exclusive meeting of industry heads in India, titled “Club Elite“ that brought both domestic and international manufacturers to express their view on how they expect to improve the existing market. All of them expressed satisfaction with how Messe Frankfurt India was going about organizing the event by including not only exhibitors, but also visitor groups to ensure a fair full of business possibilities.

Beautyworld India will be held from 3 – 6 October 2008, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India.
