Mission10X, Wipro’s not-for-profit trust, completed the Phase 1 of its mission – empowering 10,000 faculties across India since its inception 3 years ago. To mark the occasion, Mission10X organized an “Educators Meet” that was graced by Honorable Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister Human Resource Development, Government of India and Mr. Azim Premji, Chairman, Wipro Limited.
To enhance the employability of graduating engineers, Wipro. as an industry leader initiated a quantum innovation project called Mission 10X. With the vision of “In Pursuit Of Excellence in Engineering Education through Innovation”. Mission10X was formally launched by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji in the presence of leading Academicians on Teachers Day, September 5 2007.
Mission10X attempts to bring about a change among students through their teachers. The Mission10X learning Approach empowers engineering faculty of various engineering colleges in innovative teaching methodologies. Since inception, the initiative has seen continuous engagement by the faculties through active participation in workshops, advanced engagements and contribution to the community portal www.mission10x.com. The community of Mission10Xians has built an impressive repository of 4000+ assets in innovative teaching approaches across various engineering disciplines.
During the Educators Meet, the chief guest, Mr. Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for HRD, Government of India said, “I am happy to be part of the Educators Meet organized by Mission10X. I congratulate Academia and Mission10X who have worked together in spearheading this innovative approach. I believe this approach can significantly help faculty members of engineering institutions to teach better, thereby enhancing the employability skills of engineering graduates. Such collaborations between the academia and industry help in building institutions of higher learning and contribute to nation building”

The second phase of Mission10X involves building institutions with 250 Academic Leaders going through advanced level of Mission10X Leadership programs, 2500 Learning Kits that have the potential to reduce the gap between academia and industry in technology learning practices and reaching out to 25,000 more teachers in the Mission10X Learning Approach.
