Mumbai Int'l Boat Show 2012 to showcase the latest in leisure boating from across the world

After five increasingly successful shows, the 6th edition of the annual Mumbai International Boat Show (MIBS 2012) will bring some of the latest in leisure boating industry from around the world. To be held from February 23th and 26th at the sprawling MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex, the MIBS 2012 will showcase a variety of day boats, speed boats, security boats, personal watercrafts, kayaks, boating accessories, marine engines, marine toys and some of the finest, most luxurious yachts, large boats and sail boats.

The four-day annual leisure boating event has over the years seen a steady increase of international marine exhibitors, enthusiast participations. Touted as India’s largest and only truly international boat show, MIBS 2012 will bring a unique opportunity to participate in a well established platform to cater to arguably the largest untapped leisure boating market in the world. The 6th edition will bring luxury, super-luxury boats and designer yachts that have never been seen on the Indian shores.

 

MIBS continues to highlight India’s evolving leisure boating sector, it is no wonder then that past exhibitors have assured their full participation, in fact, this time round will be joined by new players in the emerging market.

The MIBS 2012, in addition of receiving official backing and sanction from the Government of Maharashtra, Indian Coast Guard, Yachting Association of India, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), and the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation, received the support from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2011.

In their efforts to promote the boating industry in India, CII and Mumbai Boat Show Pvt. Ltd. have invited speakers from India and around the world to chart a way forward for the industry at the CII International Boating Conference titled ‘Navigating Forward,’ to be held on the 24th February , Bandra-Kurla Complex.

The CII’s international Boating Conference at the MIBS 2012 is also be supported by the MTDC , Mumbai Yacht Club and Yachting Association of India and will cover a wide range of interest to stakeholders in the industry and leading industry players will participate and share their thoughts and ideas in exclusive interactive roundtable sessions.

There will also be an elaborate dinner on 25th February – an ideal platform for exhibitors, sponsors and marine industry professionals to forge connections and leverage strengths to dive into this rapidly growing market. Leading real estate firm, Ahuja Construction will host the inaugural day VIP Preview Evening at the MIBS 2012, while Club Torque will be the show’s exclusive car partners. Entry to the inaugural day event-VIP Preview Evening will be by invitation only, while the remaining three days of the event will be open to public.

Adding panache to India’s only truly international boat show, Club Torque, India’s most exclusive private super-car club will display Audi and Ferrari super-cars at the MIS 2012 for all the four days. While an exciting fashion show will be hosted by leading luxury brand, Gitanjali Lifestyle featuring leading fashion designers; will be a special treat to guest at the VIP Preview Evening on February 23, 2012.

Despite the lack of proper boating culture in India, Spenta Multimedia took the initiative of creating a leisure boating trend in India. The organisation which acquired the Mumbai Boat Show Pvt.
