Axiom Education, the leader in innovative education system, announced the winners of the nation wide Iken ScientificA competition. Iken ScientificA the only science and technology competition organised for school students from class 5th to 8th standard across 1,200 schools in 21 cities of India. The other three winners were Mrunal Shetty in the 5th standard category from Vapi, Dipanshi Bansal in 7th standard category from New Delhi, Aayushi Parikh in the 8th standard category from Vadodara.
The grand finale was held at the renowned knowledge centre of Mumbai, IIT Powai on January 31, 2009 where winning participants from across India proved themselves yet again competing for the prestigious title of ‘Student Icon of India 2008’. In the 5th, 6th , 7th and 8th standard categories, the four winners were awarded prizes worth Rs 15 lacs including an ‘Iken innovations tour’ to Singapore and a role to perform in Iken films that would be used as a learning resource by students, teachers and schools across the globe. In all prizes worth Rs. 50 lacs were awarded to participants at various levels of Iken ScientificA.
Each round in the grand finale has been devised with a clear focus to enhance the ability of each participate and to effectively use technology creating human networks that can be utilized to impart quality education of the future.
Round one TechnoMaze: Technical maze had five different problem statements. It is to tests the ability of each student and their ability to reason. Each student will have to move from one maze to other solving one problem statement after other under a strict times bases pattern.
Round two JunKreate: In this round, students were given a problem statement and loads of relevant material to choose from and solve the problem statement. This round was a test check the ability of the students to solve problems with design, creativity and innovation.
Round two Gaming Zone: Games are a great way to rejuvenate and indulge oneself. And, games can make students learn concepts, analyze, strategize and prepare them for real challenges in life. Students play a series of exciting games that push them hard to think.
Finally Contraption: A contraption is the most exciting way to see energy changing forms. This activity challenges students to design a contraption to perform a trivial task using maximum energy transfers. The wackier these energy transfers are, the better it is.

The competition comprises of three rounds – the school level, the city level and the national finals.
