Nasscom inks MoU with the FEDESOFT

Alliance to increase trade, investment, economic, commercial, technological and develop friendly relationships between Colombia and India.

Nasscom the premier trade body and the “voice” of the Indian IT industry, today announced the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Colombian Federation of Software and Related Technologies (FEDESOFT). This MoU aimed at encouraging trade, investment, economic, commercial, technological and friendly relationships between Colombia and India.

As a part of this MOU both bodies will implement joint activities focused at further enhancing understanding and co-operation between the ICT industries of India and Colombia. The two agencies FEDESOFT and Nasscom will promote new forms of economic cooperation in the ICT sector in their capacity. Both the agencies will also assist their members and other organisations within their countries to establish direct contacts, develop business relations and seek potential investors as well as business partners.

 

Announcing the MoU, Mr. Ameet Nivsarkar, Vice President, Nasscom said “Nasscom is delighted to partner with FEDESOFT and with this association we hope to further strengthen the ICT alliances between India and Colombia. With current economic scenario and the difficult market conditions faced by the economies world over, it is imperative that we collaborate and improve the market environment for ICT companies and in particular the small and medium-sized firms.”

“We are confident that this association will go a long way in nurturing the ICT sector and will create new business opportunities in both the countries,” he added.

The MoU has been signed by Mr. Som Mittal, President Nasscom and Mr. Alberto Pradilla Bermudez, President FEDESOFT.

Various activities to be undertaken as per the agreement include:

  • Promotion of joint organisation and participation of international; trade seminars and informative sessions in their countries and the exchange of training specialists and of their personnel
  • Encouraging and mutually assisting members and other companies and organisations within their countries
  • Establishing direct contacts and developing business relations, seeking potential investors, business partners as well as agents and distributers.
  • Co-operating in each other’s respective surveys, studies, seminars, exhibitions and other activities, as appropriate.
  • Fostering the exchange of trade missions and business delegations to both Colombia and India, if wished so by the associations’ members.
