Selected projects to get an opportunity to collaborate with International and Indian companies for co-production
Mumbai, July 2009: National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC) will organise Co-production Market as part of the Film Bazaar India’ 10, a film market specially designed for the filmmakers will be held alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. This initiative undertaken by NFDC aims to offer selected filmmakers the opportunity to present their feature film projects (in all languages and at any stage of production) to co producers, bankers, funds, sales agents, distributors, TV stations and other potential financiers from India and abroad.
The Co production Market at Film Bazaar presents to the world feature-length (75 mins or more) fiction projects that are Indian stories. At Film Bazaar these selected projects receive the opportunity to be pitched by their representatives to potential collaborators for finance, distribution and artistic support through one-to-one meetings.
NFDC invites application from filmmakers to participate in Co-production market if seeking for international partner to participate in your project in any aspect (E.g. Locations, Composers, Artists or Technicians) and if an experienced filmmaker is looking towards reaching world cinema markets/audiences. A film maker can even apply if the film qualifies for co-production status under one of the international co-production treaties signed by India.
The Film Bazaar selection committee will screen the applications and select deserving 10 projects for the 2010 edition. Applications will be accepted till September 30, 2010 at the NFDC offices.
The main criterion for selection is that the film must be original, authentic and balance an Indian story with a universal theme. Films at the stages of anywhere between development, preproduction or production, as long as there is a producer attached to the project, are eligible to apply.
