Harsh Mariwala, Kishore Biyani, KV Kamath, Malvinder Singh, Narayana Murthy and R. Gopalkrishnan to short-list and present top entries
In a bid to unearth exemplary entrepreneurial talent from for-profit and not-for-profit backgrounds, TiE Mumbai, announced the “Made In India” Search, results of which will be announced at the mega TiE Entrepreneurial Summit being held in Mumbai from December 21-23, 2009. Nominations are open till November 15, 2009. The form is available online at http://tiesummit.org/MiiAbout.aspx.
About 20-24 shortlisted entrepreneurs will be introduced by six of India’s renowned business leaders, who are co-hosting the TiE Entrepreneurial Summit alongwith TiE - Harsh Mariwala (Marico), Kishore Biyani (Future Group), KV Kamath (ICICI Bank), Malvinder Singh (Ranbaxy), Narayana Murthy (Infosys) and R. Gopalkrishnan (Tata Sons).
The nominated enterprises will be classified under six categories – Innovate or Die; Serving the Indian Consumer; Inclusive Finance; Health is Wealth; Education the Great Leveler; Make things better, make better things - and evaluated by separate “Made in India” jury panels comprising of the six co-hosts, along with Deepak Ghaisas (I-flex), Ireena Vittal (McKinsey), Harish Mehta (Onward Technologies Ltd.) and Nachiket Mor (ICICI Bank).
Announcing the “Made In India” Search, Sriram R., co-founder of Crossword Bookstore and president-elect TiE Mumbai, said, “Job no. 1 for India is job creation, and entrepreneurs create jobs. We are working towards our vision for “Enterprising India”, which will contribute significantly in changing the face of entrepreneurship in the country. We are proud to present the “Made In India” initiative, which is intended to identify and celebrate the hitherto uncelebrated entrepreneur.”
