Pearson's DigiClass wins the 'Jury Award' for 'Best Technology Solution in Schools' at eINDIA awards

Pearson Education Services, a part of Pearson PLC and one of India’s leading education services company, has won the ‘Jury Award’ for ‘Best Technology Solution in Schools’ for its ICT based product, DigiClass during the 2011 eINDIA awards. The eINDIA awards, held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat between December 14-16, 2011, are dedicated to paying tribute to the landmark endeavours made by public and private entities for using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the fields of governance, health and education.

Pearson Education Services and its products received a total of 3 nominations during the awards.

Shamsu, Former Joint Adviser, Education, Planning Commission, Government of India; Dr. Ashok Kumar, DDG and Head Central TB Division and Director, RNTBCP, Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Government of India; Dr. B S Bedi, Advisor-Health Informatics, C- DAC; Prof Arun Nigavekar, Raja Ramanna Fellow and Former Chairman, University Grants Commission, New Delhi; Mr. P.Vigneswara LLavarasan, Assistant Professor, Department of Human and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi; Ms. Rita Soni, Chief Executive NASSCOM Foundation; Lekha Kumar, Commissioner, Income Tax, Department of Revenue in Ministry of Finance, Government of India; Ms. Rita Wilson, Former Deputy Secretary, Council for the Indian school Certificates Examination (CISCE); Prof Ajoy Kumar Ray, Vice Chancellor, Bengal Engineering & Science University, India; Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, chairman, International Telemedicine Congress 2011; Dr. Shakti Gupta, Medical Superintendent & HOD, Hospital Administrative, AIIMS; Dr. Karanvir Singh, Consultant Surgeon & Head-Medical Informatics, Ganga Ram Hospital; Dr. Sanjeev Sood, Hospital & Health Systems Administrator SMC, Air Force Station, Chandigarh and Mr. Ashis Sanyal, Consultant, ICT 4D.

There were two awards in each category. While the jury members selected one winner in each category, the second winner was decided through online public voting. The highly prestigious eINDIA Awards have been instrumental in promoting the most innovative initiatives in the domain of ICT.

DigiClass is Pearson’s ICT based solution that aims at converting traditional classrooms into interactive sessions by combining state-of-the-art hardware with syllabus-compliant, multimedia content. It has been created with the objective of making teaching and learning interactive so that children understand concepts better and never forget what they have learnt. The DigiClass solution is currently being used by over 2,000 schools in India and abroad (Maldives, Nepal, UAE, etc.) Pearson Education Services recently signed former Indian test cricket team captain Anil Kumble as its brand ambassador for its range of cutting edge education products.
