Mr. Rajeev Sharma with Presidential Mission to India in CEO’S Panel in New Delhi

A participant of the Presidential Mission to India of United States President Barack Obama, Rajeev Sharma, CEO of ABSi Corporation and Solena ABSi Private Ltd  (SAIP) spoke at the CEO Panel of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) “India-US: An Agenda for Co-Creation” at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. The panel discussion was moderated by Ron Somers, President of the United States-India Business Council (USIBC) and also featured the participation of five other CEOs from India and USA.

“In 1963, my family immigrated to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream with all its attendant opportunities and potential. 47 years later, I am in India pursuing the Indian Dream with all its attendant opportunities and potential.  I believe there is no greater testament to India’s enormous advancement, achievement and promise for the future than this remarkable paradigm shift.” said Sharma. “We will be sharing with fellow panelists and conferees our perspectives on the Indian Dream, describing our commitment of time, money and resources but most significantly we will detail how we are innovating and succeeding in the energetic Indian market.  I am very honored to be a part of this historic visit of President Barack Obama to India.”

Among the panelists joining Sharma at the conference were such luminaries as Kamal Nath, Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Pranab Mukherjee, Indian Minister of Finance, Timothy Geithner, US Secretary of Treasury, Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure & Innovations and Francisco Sanchez, US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade.

Mr.Sharma and his wife, Mrs. Seema Sharma, shared these themes of the American Dream, the Indian Dream and technology innovation with President Obama personally when they hosted him at a dinner at their home on last month in Rockville, MD. “We were very honored indeed by the President’s visit to our home”, said Sharma.  In welcoming the President, Sharma discussed his family’s immigrant background and praised the opportunities to be had in the United States.  Looking forward to the Presidents upcoming trip to India, Sharma also discussed the goals of SAIP, a state-of-the-art renewable energy company specifically focused on the Indian market.  SAIP will provide clean, renewable energy throughout India while protecting the environment, providing jobs, and giving back to the communities it serves. President Obama, in his remarks that evening reiterated the importance of clean energy and praised the application of American innovation into the dynamic Indian market.

Sharma further described the exciting story of SAIP in India (www.saip-energy.com). SAIP is actively bringing technological innovation to the renewable energy marketplace in India with maximum impact at a local level and net zero carbon emissions at a time of significant need for clean and economically competitive sources of energy in India.  “We are committed to energizing a Green India that looks to the future,” said Sharma.

On the occassion President barrack obama said: “We have to remember that as long as we think towards the future and not just towards the present, that America will prosper, and that the 21st century will be the American Century, just as the 20th was. Thank you so much for hosting us and it’s wonderful to see all of you. Rajeev and Seema and your wonderful children, thank you for your extraordinary hospitality"

Using a cutting edge, patented and proven plasma gasification and vitrification technology, SAIP converts all forms of organic waste into biosynthetic gas, which can produce clean, renewable electricity or can be converted through the established Fischer Tropsch process into bio-fuel. Feedstock for this solution is plentiful as it is derived from any carbon-based material, including municipal, agricultural or industrial waste, plastics and rubber. SAIP’s use of diverse feedstock provides distinct advantages in terms of cost and efficiency to municipalities, rural jurisdictions, businesses, industries and utilities. SAIP’s next generation process virtually eliminates emissions and pollution as compared to legacy energy and utility operations in municipal and rural areas—all without incineration.  “SAIP’s clean energy solutions will deliver value in this great country.  By growing together with India and our Indian partners, we are thrilled to contribute to India’s growing momentum in establishing a stable supply of clean energy” added Sharma.

Currently, SAIP is involved in the development of several leading-edge green power projects in India, both in major urban centers and in rural areas.  In one project, SAIP is working to develop a renewable energy plant that will be capable of generating up to 40 MW of green power for New Delhi. Similar agreements have also been signed for a green power plants in other major Indian cities and projects are underway to power several rural communities that are currently detached from the electrical grid. SAIP has numerous other projects at various stages in its project development pipeline in India.  Outside of India, ABSi Corporation is developing projects in the USA of various sizes and will soon be announcing a 245MW project that will consume 3000 tons per day of aggregated solid waste displacing 6 Million tons of carbon per year.  The same technology solution is being used to develop bio-jetfuel for British Airways in the United Kingdom by SAIP’s partner company, the Solena Group.  500,000 tons of solid waste will be converted into 16 Million gallons of bio-jet fuel economically, efficiently and with the carbon impact equivalent to taking 44,000 cars off the road for one whole year.  Similar agreements are being finalized with multiple airline carriers in Europe and Asia.

Sharma is also the CEO of ABSi (www.absicorp.com) based in Washington, D.C, which in addition to focusing on the renewable energy market in the USA markets is also a global information and technology solutions company. Established in 1995, ABSi has developed an outstanding track record of service focused on the design, integration and management of complex technological solutions for customers around the world. ABSi’s domain focus comprises large-scale enterprise computing, healthcare IT and sophisticated cyber-security solutions for the US Federal Government.  An unwavering commitment to the highest standards of quality and excellent service has enabled ABSi to develop a reference base of marquee clients in government and private industry. With its steady investments in R&D, dedicated labs, and key patents, technology innovation is the foundation for ABSi’s growth in the markets it serves around the world. “At our core, we are technology innovators.  I can assure you that there’s no market in the world where we’d rather be right now, and for years to come, than right here in India,” said Sharma “for both our energy and cyber security solutions.”
