Proven Energy, the worldwide leading provider of robust, reliable wind turbines announces a new wave of renewable energy in the Indian market.

VASCO - The National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research, an autonomous research and development institution of the Department of Ocean Development (DOD), government of India and Ministry of Earth Sciences, have installed a Proven 6kW wind turbine at its headquarters in Goa, India.

The idea behind installing the wind turbine is to trial it in Goa, India before relocating it to the Maitri Station in Antarctica.  This will make it the third small scale wind turbine installed at the Maitri Station.

A spokesperson from the NCAOR said ‘The main driver was to save on fuel and become more environmentally friendly.  With the further installation of the Proven 6kW wind turbine, the Maitri station would look to save about 60 per cent on the total fuel costs’.

Proven Energy has already installed eight wind turbines for The Polar Foundation, located in Antarctica at the Princess Elisabeth Station in 2008.

Proven Energy has a unique technology which is the result of 28 years of innovative research and development.  Key to the design is the ability to survive high wind speeds while continuing to produce electricity, unlike many other systems that need to be switched off.  The Proven blades are designed to minimise ice forming and fold backwards to give protection from harsh, extreme weather conditions while still producing power.

Renowned for quality and durability Proven Energy wind turbines are generating electricity from the extreme cold of Antarctica to the heat of the Saudi Arabian desert.
