Interactive session on ‘Changing face of Indian Education’ by Mr. Kapil Sibal

Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) today organised an interactive session with Mr. Kapil Sibal, Union Minister, Ministry of Human Resource Development on ‘The Changing Face of Indian Education’. The discussion was an YFLO initiative to provide a platform for its members to discuss the pertinent changes in the current education system.

Mr. Kapil Sibal elaborated the initiatives taken by the Ministry to improve the education system, including implementation of grading system. He was of the view that in order to ascertain the performance of a child, he/she should go through a continuous process, expand the horizon of knowledge and move beyond books.

Mr. Sibal also shared his views on allowing foreign direct investment (FDI) in the education sector which will encourage foreign universities to venture into India. He emphasized that quality should be at the forefront of the education system, and quality education should be available to all.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Priyanka Agarwal, Chairperson, YFLO and Director of TCI Foundation said, “We are honoured to have Mr. Kapil Sibal with us and I would like to thank him on behalf of all YFLO members for being present here. YFLO has always been instrumental in bringing up issues which concerns our society and the education system is one such issue which bothers all parents. We are glad that the Ministry is taking various initiatives to ensure no child is deprived of quality education and we strongly support it.”
