RInfra appeals consumers to switch off power voluntarily during Earth Hour

Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra), the largest power distributor in Mumbai, urges its consumers in suburban areas to unequivocally support the event by not only switching off their nonessential electricity on March 26 for an hour starting 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m., but also commit to a personal action to benefit the environment and be part of the solution. 

The Spokesperson, Reliance Infrastructure, on the occasion said, “RInfra has been continuously championing the cause of energy conservation at multiple levels and across all available platforms. Besides educating the stakeholders on the needs and benefits of energy conservation, the company has endeavoured to bring world class technology for its consumers at heavily discounted price. RInfra is committed to explore all such possibilities to bring world class quality products for its consumers, as we sincerely feel that the energy saving should become an agenda for everybody of us to save Mother Earth." 

 

RInfra, as its ongoing endeavour to save energy and in turn reduce carbon footprints to save planet earth is already in process of undertaking several initiatives that are focusing on bringing behavioural changes in conserving energy coupled with bringing in the new world class energy saver technology for its consumers. 

RInfra has undertaken a campaign “Change for Mumbai”, which is focused at bringing world class energy saving technology for consumers. As part of the campaign, Rinfra is facilitating consumers with the distribution and installation of energy efficient gadgets like T5 tube-lights, split air conditioners and ceiling fans to enable them to save energy at heavily discounted prices. Earlier, the Company has facilitated distribution of CFL bulbs; where around 7 lacs bulbs were distributed among the suburban consumers. Leading brands like LG, Havells and Osram had tied up with the company for split air conditioners, ceiling fans and T5 tube lights respectively. 

In the recent past, RInfra has run a campaign "I Will, Mumbai Will", wherein the focus was on bringing change in power usage habits amongst consumers. During the campaign expert teams from RInfra had visited consumer’s premises to apprise them on importance of power conservation and various methods to do so. Subsequently it resulted in not only energy conservation and reduction in power bills, but also actively contributed in bringing down carbon footprints. 

To cultivate energy saving habits to have a long term impact and benefits, RInfra has also undertaken unique initiative "YES" - Young Energy Savers; in which, the focus was on cultivating energy saving habits among children through workshops, competitions, etc. RInfra covered this exercise in more than 100 schools and almost covered more than 1 lac students across its distribution area.
