Sandeep Asthana takes over as Sun Life Country Head from Venky Mysore

Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX/NYSE: SLF) today announced the appointment of Sandeep Asthana as the Country Head of Sun Life Financial India. He takes over from Venky Mysore, who recently took over as CEO & MD of IPL team - Kolkata Knight Riders.

Mr. Asthana joins Sun Life Financial India with extensive experience in the Life insurance industry. He was most recently serving as the Managing Director of RGA Services India, where he focused on developing RGA’s business in India.  Prior to RGA, Mr. Asthana held senior roles at Zurich Financial Services in India, where he was instrumental in examining joint venture opportunities for the company.

 

In his new role as Country Head of Sun Life’s India operations, Mr. Asthana will be responsible for managing the relationship with Sun Life’s Indian joint venture partner, the Aditya Birla Group.  In addition, he will oversee the joint venture operations, Birla Sun Life Insurance and Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company.

Mr. Asthana holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow, India.
