Sarasin Alpen names Shiv Khazanchi as MD for its India Operations

Sarasin Alpen (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Swiss private bank, Bank Sarasin & Co. Ltd, Switzerland, today named Shiv Khazanchi as its Managing Director to head its India operations. Shiv Khazanchi will be based out of Sarasin Alpen’s New Delhi office. In addition to his responsibilities as Head of Sarasin Alpen, India, Shiv Khazanchi will also oversee the operations of Alpen Capital India Private Limited, the investment banking associate of Sarasin Alpen.

The Sarasin Group is incorporated in the Middle East and India as Sarasin Alpen. Its operations were launched in India in July 2009 with offices in Mumbai and New Delhi. Sarasin Alpen (India) Private Limited is registered as a Non Fund Based Non Banking Financial Company” (NF-NBFC) and provides financial advisory and consultancy services to wealthy private clients in India and distributes select prime third-party products such as mutual funds.

Shiv Khazanchi has close to 35 years of experience across Corporate, Retail and Private Banking acquired with Indian and Multi National Banks in India & the UK. He joins Sarasin Alpen from Standard Chartered bank where he was a Managing Director and Global Head of the Global Indian Business based in London. Prior to that, he was based in India, heading the India operations of Standard Chartered Private Bank. Shiv Khazanchi started his career with the State Bank of India and worked with organizations such as American Express and ANZ Grindlays.

Shiv Khazanchi has a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and acquired formal knowledge in Investment Management from London Business School. He is married and has two children.
