Announcement Corporate
  • Customers of some DTH operators left without any channels at all, while others without some.
  • Digital cable and IPTV operators enjoying flawless uninterrupted service of over 200 channels

Owing to the failure of satellite Insat 4B, customers of major DTH operators are facing tremendous hardships while viewing their favourite channels. Over 70% of the DTH customer base has been affected in one way or the other with either some or all channels going off air due to satellite failure.

Meanwhile, digital cable and IPTV operators have been enjoying uninterrupted services, even in the most strenuous of times such as monsoons, as they are not dependent on external satellites that are beyond their control as far as satellite malfunctions are concerned.

Mr Sunder Raju, MD, ACT Television, one of the leading digital cable service providers in Bangalore said, “Digital Cable transmission is not susceptible to either satellite failures or poor atmospheric conditions and this is one of the biggest advantages of digital cable over DTH services. We do not depend on satellites for our services and thus our customers have not faced issues that are out of our control such as failure of satellite Insat 4B. Our customers need not be worried about missing the FIFA finals on account of extreme weather conditions or any satellite failures.”

Once again, this brings up the debate on whether digital cable TV or DTH players offer superior services during extreme conditions. It appears that the clear winner is Digital cable when compared to sheer consistency in performance, pricing and high quality of service. Moreover, with both satellite & weather-proof networks, it is rare that digital cable customers have to face any cable service issue…. Moreover, with instant personalized customer service, any problem can be solved INSTANTLY!! Digital cable customers are assured of uninterrupted services during the most intriguing matches like the upcoming FIFA World Cup finals.
