Organizes Blood Donation Camp at Sharda Hospital
Sharda University, an institute of excellence, inspiring value-based education, research and development, observed World Blood Donor Day. A voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized by the Sharda University at Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida.
A number of people were seen making a beeline at the Blood Bank of Sharda Hospital. Preparations for the same had begun a day in advance at the hospital and University’s campus. Catchy posters bearing slogan “Celebrating Your Gift of Blood” were on display in the hospital premises and campus at prominent places. Student volunteers were also creating a buzz, in the campus about the same, which resulted in an overwhelming response from the hospital employees, as well as, from the relatives of patients who visited the hospital, faculty members and concerned students of Sharda University and voluntary donors from adjoining areas. Over 25 donations were made at the Blood Bank. The donors also registered their contact details with the concerned hospital authorities so that they can be contacted in future for further donation in case of an emergency requirement.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Geeta Dev, Head of the Department, Pathology, Sharda Hospital said, “The importance of Blood cannot be overstated. We at Sharda Hospital feel extremely proud of the fact that this initiative of ours on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day will help in saving someone’s life in the hour of the need. The response by volunteers, students and staff members has been overwhelming and we hope to help the society through this small effort.”
