World renowned singer Sonu Nigam will perform in a live fundraising concert to aid a campaign against child labour in the country.
The musical concert “Pukaar”, to be held in New Delhi on January 31, will see thousands of audiences tapping their feet to the songs of Sonu Nigam and coming out for the cause of children who are forced to toil at the age when they should be in classrooms.
The fundraiser is being organized by NGO Divine and NGO LOKSATHI as part of their massive campaign to irradiate child labour and rehabilitate the children who are forced to work in their tender age.
The concert is an initiative by The Theme & Blue Cube Entertainment.
The problem of child labour has plagued our society extensively as over 250 millions child labourers, 60 % of whom are girls are denied the right to childhood and access to proper education. Over 1 billion adults are today illiterate largely because, as children, they had to work instead of going to school.
NGO Divine and LOKSATHI have taken up this initiative to provide direct assistance for the rehabilitation of children and their social integration. These organizations are also taking account of girls and their special situation.
To lend the star power to this event which aimed to protect the natural rights of millions of underprivileged children, Sonu Nigam will enthrall a large crowd of audience during the gala concert. The collection of this show will be spent on the rehabilitation and education of child labourers.
