Starcom MediaVest Group became the first media company ever to visit the venerated Faculty of Management Studies of Delhi University for placements and emerged as one of the top recruiters of interns from the business school in 2008.

Starcom’s top managers visited the campus on Day 1 of the just concluded Summer Placement season and selected six students, who will intern with Starcom MediaVest Group and its specialist solutions units in India and in Asia, as well as with India Media Exchange, in the summer of 2009.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ravi Kiran, CEO-South East & South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group said, "Our visit to FMS this year is part of a broader Academic Outreach Program which we started last year and are scaling up now. The program includes sponsorship of and support to key events led by the Institute and the students, internship programs in our network, Day with a CEO, setting up of marketing clinics and an involvement in the marketing curriculum offered by the Institute. In its full growth stage, the program will engage five top b-schools in India.

We liked the quality of students we interviewed in FMS and are glad that all six we selected accepted our offer of internship. It made us particularly happy to have seen a resurgence of interest in Marketing in the students of FMS"

Prof Madhu Vij, Placement Convener, FMS, further stated, “We are glad that FMS was one of the few campuses that had Starcom visiting for the summer placement process. The excitement shown by our students was very heartening to us. The fact that six of our students accepted the internship offers shows the interest that the company has generated among students. The students are looking forward to have a great learning experience and develop values and leadership skills during their internship programme. We are confident that this would also pave the way for a long-standing understanding and relationship with Starcom."
