Suzlon grows strongly, secures further repeat orders

Edison Mission Group repeats major 105-MW order

Pune: Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation (SWECO) - a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy A/S of Denmark, the international business arm of Suzlon Energy Limited - has signed yet another 105-megawatt deal with Edison Mission Group (EMG), for 50 units of Suzlon's S88"�2.1 MW wind turbine.Delivery of the wind turbines is expected to begin in mid-2007, and upon completion of the projects, EMG will hold more than 400 MW of Suzlon wind turbine capacity in the United States.

"Edison Mission Group has - once again - chosen to extend its contract with Suzlon in the U.S.," said Andris Cukurs, CEO of Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation and based in Chicago, Illinois. "Naturally, we are quite pleased by this news. We will continue with our straightforward and honest business approach to ensure ongoing quality customer service for EMG," he added. Edison Mission Group, headquartered in Irvine, Calif., manages the competitive power generation business of Edison International.  EMG is the fifth largest owner of wind energy capacity in the United States, managing a portfolio of 10 projects with a capacity of 477 MW either in operation or under construction in four states.

Suzlon Energy Limited has a current consolidated order book position of INR 4,587 crores, with INR 3,787 crores in international orders and INR 800 crores in domestic orders.
