Suzlon secures 113 MW Australia Order

Suzlon Energy Limited - the world's fifth largest wind turbine maker with 10.5% of global market share* announced today the entering of an agreement between AGL Energy Limited and the company’s Australian operations arm – Suzlon Energy Australia Pty Ltd.

The Supply Agreement calls for the delivery of 54 units of Suzlon’s S88 - 2.1 MW wind turbine generators (WTGs), translating to 113.4 MW of capacity, into Australia in 2009. The turbines will be used in AGL’s pipeline of projects in Australia.  This agreement builds on the existing strong relationship between Suzlon and AGL that offers mutual advantages.

AGL Energy is Australia’s leading energy provider with over 3.4 million natural gas and electricity accounts, and the only Australian energy producer with a full suite of renewable generation. This third AGL contract awarded to Suzlon will result in a total of 133 units of S88 - 2.1 MW WTGs installed on AGL wind farms. Previous contracts were for the turnkey delivery of the now fully operational 94.5 MW Hallett Stage-1 wind farm with all 45 WTGs meeting operating expectations, and the 71.4 MW Hallett Stage-2 wind farm currently under construction, both in South Australia.
