Tata Power, India's largest integrated power utility actively participated and undertook special initiatives to conserve energy to mark the occasion of Earth Day on 22ndApril, 2012.
Employees from various locations of Tata Power also participated under their new initiative called GREENOLUTION by conducting mass sensitization sessions in their areas of influence within and outside the office. The Haldia team of Tata Power also reached out to school children and emphasized their role in protecting environment through sensitization sessions at Haldia. A mega Drawing and Poster Competition was organized for these school children. More than 650 children participated in this event and depicted many beautiful pictures related to biodiversity, conserving environment and energy etc. Apart from children many employees from Haldia team have also volunteered in this initiative.
Nation-wide activities were undertaken by the Company, which included conservation and sensitization initiatives by its Energy Conservation Club- 'Club Enerji'. Mini-Club members, who are students of Ryan International school Malad, Witty Kids, Malad and St Mary's school, Malad affiliated to Club Enerji, enthusiastically went about spreading the message and importance of energy conservation at various traffic signals across Mumbai including the In-orbit mall signal Malad. Creative posters and banners were displayed at various traffic signals and illustrative handouts and pamphlets were distributed.
GREENOLUTION is a special and unique campaign initiated by Tata Power. The name 'GREENOLUTION' is a fusion of two concepts - 'Green' and 'Evolution', which signifies processes and initiatives that Tata Power has undertaken towards ensuring a greener and sustainable planet.
