- Laboratory to offer analytical and technical support to Coca-Cola’s India, South Asia and Eurasia operations

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Dinesh Trivedi today inaugurated The Coca-Cola Company’s state-of-the-art Analytical Services Center in Pirangut, Pune. Spread over an area of 2000 square meters, this world class laboratory will offer analytical and technical support to Coca-Cola’s operations in India and South Asia as well as to countries in Eastern Europe, southern Eurasia and the Middle East.The new Eurasia Analytical Services Center has been built with an investment of USD 4MM (over Rs. 18 crores) and reiterates the Company’s commitment to its operations in India. Also present at the inauguration were Mr. Atul Singh, (President & CEO, Coca-Cola India), Ms. Carletta Ooton, (Chief Quality Officer, The Coca-Cola Company), Mr. John Ward, (Director, Global Quality Analytical Services, The Coca-Cola Company), other senior officials of Coca-Cola India, and several dignitaries from Pune.
The laboratory in Pune is one of six locations strategically selected by The Coca-Cola Company for the creation of a global network of analytical testing facilities. Similar facilities exist in only five countries namely Brussels, Belgium, Shanghai, China, Johannesburg, South Africa, Mexico City, Mexico and Atlanta, USA. With the opening of the Analytical Services Center in Pune, the company will now have access to the capability needed to further enhance quality and food safety standards, drive innovation and enable Coca-Cola’s long term strategic growth objectives as defined in the 2020 Vision.
Inaugurating the laboratory, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Dinesh Trivedi, said, “It is a matter of great pleasure that The Coca-Cola Company has chosen India as a centre to cater to the analytical service requirements of its product in South Asia and Eurasian countries. It is a testimony to the available infrastructure and quality of talent available in India. This center will ensure that food safety norms are further strengthened and health issues are relegated to a thing of the past. I extend my congratulations and best wishes to the Company for focusing on consumer safety and I wish healthy habits and healthy life to all.”
