New Delhi, September 14, 2006: Terrorism is the biggest challenge the world is facing today its World War III and each one of us are on the frontline. However, to defeat these terrorists, we need to first understand how they work. |
The series, 'Nat Geo Investigates: Terrorism', focuses on giving viewers insight into the minds of terrorists, making them more alert and aware and therefore equipped to fight back. |
Besides robust 360 degree activation, Nat Geo has gone a step further by creating a unique microsite to increase interactivity with the viewers, encourage them to come forward with their views and get in depth information on the series. |
A unique interactive micro-site called 'Wall against Terror' has been created which includes a special forum called 'India's Voice'. India's Voice is a blog where viewers can share their ideas and thoughts about the issue of terrorism. |

This series is a landmark event not only for us, but all our viewers and partners as it touches a topic which is pertinent to all. With only few days into the activity, we are getting tremendous response to the series and to our blog India's Voice. It shows that people are now ready to be involved in the fight against terrorism, by being more alert and aware". |
Sanchit Sanga, Business Director " GroupM Media, says, "One of the key differentiators from the web of yore to Web 2.0 is the evolution of user generated content. Text blogs & online diaries were the first baby steps users took into this direction. However, emergence of high bandwidth pipes has lead to creation of video/audio blogs which are easier to create, upload & provide a richer expression of message. Also, platform neutral blogging has seen rapid adoption in the form of podcasts & feeds. |
It's no longer 'content is king' but USER generated content is king." According to R P Singh (Blog Manager)-GroupM Media, "Blogs and Discussions Forums are becoming increasingly popular with internet users and we wanted to use this medium in most interactive way, so we recommended to create this kind of property for NGC's Special Series on Terrorism, and it has generated good response so far." |
The series, Nat Geo Investigates: Terrorism, premiered on September 11 on the National Geographic Channel and will continue till September 22 Mon "Fri. at 10 pm. The micro-site, 'Wall Against Terror' can be accessed through the National Geographic Channel's website www.nationalgeographic.co.in or directly through http://www.designmechanics.in/natgeo/ |
