Unity Infraprojects Ltd., (BSE: 532746), one of India’s major civil contracting firms, today announced securing a prestigious order worth Rs. 1145.88 crores for the construction of a 8.3 km long Tunnel using a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) from Kapurbawdi to Bhandup Complex, Mumbai from the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. The project needs to be completed within 60 months.
The company is the lead partner of the Joint Venture with IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects Limited with a share of 50 % in the Joint Venture.
Commenting on the order, Mr. Abhijit K. Avarsekar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Unity Infraprojects Ltd. said, “ Securing such a large order is a momentous achievement for the company especially with the global economy is showing signs of recovery. Our focus on the urban infrastructure space has yielded positive results for us. Goiforward we shall continue oir thrust on big ticket infrastructure projects.”
Last week the company had bagged an order of Rs. 265.39 crores from MCGM to reconstruct the 520 bed R N Cooper hospital.
With the addition of this order, Unity’s order book has surpassed Rs. 4000 crores. The company added new order aggregating to more than Rs. 1900 crores in the current fiscal.
